A timeless escape on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.
Nestled in the quiet charm of New Church, Garden and Sea Inn blends over two centuries of history with the comfort and elegance of a modern getaway. What began as a welcoming stop for travelers in the early 1800s continues today as a place designed for relaxation, connection, and memorable stays.
The original brick structure, built in 1802 as the Bloxom Tavern, served as both a gathering place and the area’s first voting precinct. Over the years, the home expanded and evolved, eventually taking on the beautiful Victorian character you see today, dating back to 1895.
For generations, this property has been rooted in hospitality—from a private residence to a fine dining destination, and now a refined bed and breakfast. Today, Garden and Sea Inn offers guests a peaceful retreat where historic charm meets thoughtful comfort.
When you stay with us, you’re not just booking a room—you’re becoming part of a story that has welcomed guests for more than 200 years.
